nyctophobia

: an extreme or irrational fear of night or of darkness

took this one with my phone. it was 10pm, but the moon reflected plenty of light. the photo is a moody depiction of an otherwise pleasant evening.

apartment

two individuals stood on a luxury balcony overtop a shopping center. they were well-dressed and deep in conversation.

car

was crossing a busy college street when i caught this photo. to me, it falls under the category, "not good, but interesting," the zone in which most of my photos exist.

cinema

12/29/25

a movie theater i used to work at. it used to have phsycial movie posters hanging outside, but has since downgraded to a digital display. it was luck that i caught the individual walking by with an umbrella. it was a rainy night, which helped bring out a lot of color.

window-worker

possibly my favorite picture, though it could use better cropping. love how the type overlaps her head and simultaneously blends with her hair.

night-street

the background of this page. this was taken by a lake i spent a lot of time in. i went polar plunging in it a couple times after snow storms. i've felt a spiritual connection to this place, particularly during those moments of being cold and alone. i'd come by myself to seek guidance through prayer, but always left feeling unheard.

sunset

12/12/25

not exactly a 'night photo' but still resonates with the theme. i do enjoy how the bright warm color makes this picture both compliment and stand out from the rest of the gallery. narratively speaking, it's a sunset, the end of a day. this can either be a peaceful setting, or a moment of dread for those who fear the night.

lake-tower

12/05/25

another photo by the lake. this tower, likely connecting to a nearby water plant, sits alone and run down. but at night, it's a beacon standing above a murky void.

these two figures were not alone together. there was an event happening in the building, and the lady seemed to have stepped out for a call; she was completely oblivious to my presence. the figure to the right adds an unsettling nature to this picture. i appreciate the contrast in lighting here, and hope to take more pictures like this.
